Cypress Hill & Atmosphere Announce Co-Headlining Performance at Shrine LA Outdoors

Cypress Hill have already had a busy 2021 and they have no plans to slow down. The multi-platinum band just announced a month-long, co-headline tour this August with Hip-Hop duo Atmosphere and special guest Z-Trip, who will be spinning on all dates. The tour will make a special stop at Shrine LA Outdoors on August 13, 2021 to help the band celebrate the 30th anniversary of their debut album. Released on August 13, 1991, Cypress Hill went on to receive both critical and commercial acclaim. The album has been included on a number of “best of” lists from the likes of Source Magazine, Rolling Stone, and Spin and has since been certified multi-platinum.

Tickets for the Shrine date are on sale TODAY via AXS.com.

Fans can expect to hear classic Cypress Hill hits, as well as the band’s brand-new single, “Champion Sound” which was released earlier this spring. The Black Milk produced/mixed track is their first bit of new music since 2018’s Elephants on Acid. The song was featured on the soundtrack of the recently released R.B.I. Baseball 21, the eighth installment of the R.B.I. franchise developed by Major League Baseball and is also the featured track for their partnership with Montejo Cerveza. Cypress Hill also partnered with Z2 Comics for their very own original graphic novel, Cypress Hill: Tres Equis! The guys recently launched their very own STANCE sock and will be releasing their “Hits From The Bong” documentary as part of Mass Appeal’s “Hip Hop 50” franchise in partnership with Showtime.

This will be Atmosphere’s first return to touring and live performance since their Wherever Tour, which came to a close in February 2020. Atmosphere’s most recent album, The Day Before Halloween (released October 30, 2020) debuted in conjunction with a full-length movie, directed by Jason Goldwatch. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Atmosphere’s earliest official release, “God’s Bathroom Floor,” which was introduced to streaming platforms in February 2021, and already has 1.2M+ streams on Spotify alone. In celebration of its 18th birthday, Atmosphere’s legendary “God Loves Ugly” track was remixed in collaboration with Zeds Dead and Subtronics; released in June of 2020, the track already has over 5M+ streams on Spotify.

“Very excited to finally return to what we love and that is being in front of our fans. This time away has helped me really appreciate what we do and all the people who have supported and stayed with us over the last 30 years.”– Sen Dog

“This is the longest time we’ve spent off of the stage since 1995. Words can’t express how excited we are to get back out there with our peoples. Being on tour with Cypress Hill is a psychedelic dream come true for me. The impact they had on my artistic direction couldn’t be overstated. Also the fact that we’re touring with our good friend Z-Trip, and I really couldn’t ask for a better party to make. Grateful and inspired.”– Slug of Atmosphere.
